Louisiana State Tax Filing Relief Due to Winter Storms

State tax filing for the 2020 tax year and payment extensions have been automatically granted by the Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Revenue.

 

Tax returns and payments for the 2020 income tax year and 2021 franchise tax year are extended to June 15, 2021.

 

The automatic extensions apply to taxpayers

        • who reside in Louisiana
        • who have a principal business in Louisiana
        • who have critical tax records in Louisiana
        • or who have paid tax preparers in Louisiana

 

The federal disaster area was declared after the winter storms in February, and all of Louisiana’s 64 parishes are included.
